1/3 Last week, I attended #APSA2025 in Vancouver 🇨🇦 and presented my work on feminist humor and media sexism in political comedy 'news' coverage (arguably couldn't be more timely right now).

It was fantastic to get to catch up with brilliant friends and colleagues and meet so many new people.

Thrilled to be featured in the US Election Analysis 2024 which brings together leading media and politics scholars for early analysis of the election and campaign.

I contributed three pieces to the report, covering media sexism, AI, and non-traditional news - more below 🧵👇🏻

This week, I spoke on a roundtable about digital aspects of the US election at the Oxford Internet Institute.

It was fantastic to discuss issues related to digital politics with my fellow panelists Prathm Juneja and Dr Keegan McBride and moderator Licinia Güttel.

Delighted to be a speaker at the 2023 NCRM Research Methods e-Festival this week, leading a session on content analysis and inter-coder reliability and a session on working with TikTok data. And very exciting to see both were 'highly attended' sessions at the festival today!

This week, I got to share results from my final thesis chapter, an analysis of audience responses to gendered candidate representations in political comedy, for the first time. A fantastic conference and great to see many brilliant PSA Media and Politics Group colleagues again! polisky gendersky
