I’d heard other friends complain about but I downloaded it out of a combination of “how bad could it be” and “it’s inevitable anyway.” Now I am sad. But at least I had fun dressing up my phone as HAL.

That and another tragedy is that one side also has a hate-filled racist ideology and they get really angry when that is pointed out to them. (“I’m not racist you’re racist.”) Maybe that just brings it back to your point.

Let me tell you, that’s a weird feeling you never forget. A landmark that seemed permanent disintegrates along with thousands of people and you can’t go home.
