So I got laid off today as a direct result of this administration withholding educational funding to states. I taught reading skills to low literate adults in Philadelphia. I loved this work and I will miss my students. I’m so worried about fresh new horrors await us

I’ve been a cane user since 1998. My husband just started using one last year due to some back issues. We got cute new ones with my FSA. Mobility aids can be cute! There’s no shame in using a device that makes your life easier

This has been a really hard year and it’s only February. I am so grateful for my community of friends, family and neighbors and for all my little cat children. We lost a good boy this week. RIP Todd Thee PorchCat 🌈💔

Yesterday a volunteer at my job asked me if I was expecting my first child. I decided to make him just as uncomfortable and responded, “nope, just fat” I will never understand why people think that’s an appropriate thing to say to someone you just met

My sweet baby man trash prince, Todd thee PorchCat, has been sick and his prognosis isn’t sounding good after a trip to the vet today. Trying to stay positive as we’re still waiting for lab results. I love this little guy so much 🥺

For the past couple years I’ve been on a statewide committee with the word “Equity” in the title, they just took that word out of one of the courses we’re facilitating. But trust me, we’re still doing the work. I’m still committed to creating diverse, equitable and inclusive learning environments

I have a smaller raised garden bed in front of my west Philly row home and I think this year, instead of trying to fight squirrels for tomatoes, I’m going to just scatter some native wild flower seeds. It’ll be pretty and good for the bees.
