Latest read (I just started). In addition to building your game designer brain muscle, you can also train biceps with it, it's pretty heavy! 💪 I'll let you know how I liked it when I'm done 🙂

Just finished reading this book! Really insightful. I learned a ton and really recommend it, it got some great tips on storytelling and a whole section on environmental storytelling that is really great ! #gamedev #leveldesign #book #bookworm #videogames

Another round of architecture studies. Don't know if this book is available in any other language than French, but it is SO helpful and amazing. I will definitly try to find myself a copy for my own collection 📚

This week, I worked mainly on the Lighthouse area of my level. I worked on stealth encounters, architecture, a first pass on the sun altars,an enemy camp and ruins. I also sprinkled some loot, interactive objects & lore all through the level.

I always like to see the #ArtVsArtist thing on socials. I thought I'd make one for level designer and I call it #LevelVSDesigner :D (I hope gifs works well on BSky)

Weekly Update! This week, I worked on my project Eclipse. I worked on optimising the level, integrated some new alternative paths, added things to loot and interact with and I also worked on a first version of the checkpoints. It's coming along!

This week, I worked on my project ECLIPSE. I worked on making some locations memorable. I also worked on hinting the player with light, color and movement along with making a simple enemy AI to have a little challenge in stealth areas. There's still a lot to be done! #leveldesign #gamedev #learning

I've been working on my other project ECLIPSE. Here are some steps I did on the LD:
1. Blockout a rough idea
2. Make a more detailed plan
3. Make this level with good metric boxes and get a feel of the elevation that would be interesting
4. Start to bring this level to life!

Last week working on this project! At least for now! :) This week I polished my level. I also made the boxes heavier so the push feels better. Also added some UI elements to indicate when an area is clear. I'm pretty happy with the work I've done!

This week, the level has now 3 & 1/2 islands! You can now loose the seed when touching fires, get your seed stolen by crows. I added caves to hide collectibles and also experimented with physics to add height and prototype puzzles. #leveldesign #gamedesign #leveldesignerinthemaking #gamedev

Last level I did during the course, we could do anything we wanted and I decided to try to make a side scroller level. I was inspired by an idea I had in my head since a while.

For my 7th Level, we needed to explore the horror theme. I was inspired by dark fantasy stories. We explored a more mission driven level.

For my 5th level, we explored a more semi-OpenWorld scale. In this level, A newly assigned sheriff investigates a murder on a salt-mining planet. The scale was way bigger than previous projects! #leveldesign #leveldesignerinthemaking #gamedev

My 4th Level was a platformer. It was really fun to make! I would like to rework somethings here and there in this one but it was one of my favorite to make :) www.artstation.com/artwork/lG1qma

I've been working this week on a new little project. S1LV1 is a reforestation robot and needs to plant seeds in a burnt land. They need to avoid flames and can discover new seedlings species. :)
