So many senior appointees in the Trump admin got positions they were utterly unqualified and unprepared for because of their social media presence or Fox appearances. MAGA cheers it on. Then it constantly comes back to bite them when they screw things up - like the Texas gerrymander.

Trump’s reasoning on the Epstein files makes no sense. He’s expecting his base to accept anything he says. Independents, who control the outcome of our elections, aren’t going to fall for this.
If Trump claims he wants Republicans to vote to release the files now because he has nothing to hide, why doesn’t he just release the files today? Why did he order his AG many months ago not to release them? Why did he threaten Rs who signed the petition?
