If photos could smell, this one would stink! This fungus had a putrid, rotting stench as I walked past. The Seek app identified it as jelly-ear fungus, but I'm not so sure. #fungusfriday

I've just singlehandedly shifted a ton of hardcore from my drive to the bottom of my garden. One spade and two cheap buckets were all I needed. No need to go to the gym today! 💪

Saw this Dryad's Saddle fungus about 2m above the ground on a tree. I don't think I've seen one this big before! #FungusFriday

Happy #FingerpostFriday. Another fingerpost being claimed by nature, with an historic village well as an added bonus!

My favourite gate. I've taken so many photos of it over the years. I have a painting of it too. Anyone else got photos of it? #ArnsideKnottGate

I spied this beautiful ceiling decoration (not sure of the proper word) of a bird and its nest of chicks in the cloisters of Canterbury Cathedral. Could it be of a peregrine falcon, like the real one I'd spotted moments earlier perched on a pinnacle? #medieval #cathedrals #artwork

I'm currently reading The Lost Rainforests of Britain by @guyshrubsole.bsky.social and decided to take a closer look at the plants at Woodwell, Silverdale, where the water seeps through the limestone rocks into a natural pool. 1/2

Saw a peregrine predate a bird in a flock of knott. It happened right in front of me. Wonderful! #birdart #Morecambe

Bought this beautiful book by Sir Peter Scott at The Old Pier Bookshop in Morecambe today. The illustrations are so colourful and detailed. Published in 1965 by the Wildfowl Trust. A bargain at £2! #birdbooks #birds #books
