We can use relational organizing and regular phonebanking of potential DSA members to do recruitment at scale, and refine our organizing tactics to meet our goal of 100,000 DSA members by the end of the year. 5/6

We can merge the socialist movement and the labor movement by fighting alongside organized workers and unifying our party behind a short set of widely- and deeply-felt issues, such as those proposed in the Carnation Program. 4/6

Abdullah organized his workplace with the UAW and helped lead a rent control campaign in Pasadena. He helped to start the Labor for an Arms Embargo campaign, which is working alongside PYM and PI to organize local unions around the demand of an arms embargo.

We’ve seen the power of organizing around a program like this with the Zohran campaign in NYC, which has brought thousands of people into organizing to elect a mayor who has pledged to arrest Netanyahu.

One of the co-authors of the Carnation Program, Abdullah from LA, is running for NPC. His number one goal is to build DSA into a powerful party that can fight empire at home and around the world.

The day before that victory, the shipping logistics company Maersk announced that it was cutting ties to illegal Israeli settlements. We can organize to express the power of the pro-peace and pro-Palestine majority.

The Zohran campaign shows that championing winnable day-to-day demands that have a consensus among the socialist movement can unlock massive energy and enthusiasm that can organize the working class.

On the 51st anniversary of the Carnation Revolution, we remember a revolution that ended Portuguese imperialism and defeated authoritarianism at home. The US continues facilitating genocide in Gaza, eroding our civil liberties as union members are abducted for political speech.
