🏳️‍⚧️🍉🌻 Trade union rep, chair of Conway Hall Ethical Society, weirdly optimistic for someone with chronic TMJ. Pronouns are She/They but "Glorious Majesty" is also fine.
You're using a secondary school level of biology to defend a culture war position. How did you go from cheering on someone else's local women's football league to using the phrase "male pattern body"? I've been off the internet for a while but this sounds exactly like a conspiracy theory.

You seem so sure of this for someone clearly using common sense to extrapolate out to the real world. "It's about doping, no wait, chromosomes, or maybe testosterone? No actually fairness, no wait, M2F."

I'm sorry but you have been taken for a fool by someone over an issue that doesn't affect you.

It's true, I've had a lot of autism.
May 6, 2025 at 4:43 PM
So why aren't all league players getting their T-levels checked then? Because it's not actually about fairness, it is about singling out this one suspected trans person.
May 6, 2025 at 4:22 PM
I'm trying to put myself in a few positions here:
1. The person being asked to take a testosterone test.
2. The other players *not* being asked to take a testosterone test.
3. The families, friends and fans of all involved, none of whom are getting their T levels checked.

This isn't about fairness.

So complain about doping, not trans rights. You've said this person may not even be trans. What if they were intersex and had no idea? Who tested their testosterone levels in the first place? This is such a swiss cheese situation I find it more edible than credible.
May 6, 2025 at 3:14 PM
Ok? But testosterone levels vary between people. There are always going to be outliers. Your issue here is with transphobia itself, not whether this one person (out of how many footballers in this league?) is trans or not. What does homo/bisexuality have to do with sports ability?
May 6, 2025 at 1:30 PM
@draustphd.bsky.social there have been no issues in sports like roller derby where trans women are explicitly welcome. Even in women's football, there's hardly an army of trans women qualifying for selection in major teams. Where is your evidence for this claim? What counts as an independent poll?

It is the hope that kills us!

Well done mate! This is super cool 😍
May 5, 2025 at 9:39 PM
Right??? It's very clearly empty promises unless we are serious about abandoning our commitment to uphold human rights. Just feeds the idea that politicians all lie, they are all the same, and it's completely hopeless. Oh and also growth, somehow.

I'm surprised there isn't a strategy of quick and longer term wins that get publicised at regular intervals. Put £comms behind that instead of platforming the bogeyman. Minimum wage, housing, employment rights, waiting lists etc. There's some good stuff here!

Not just the electoral system - the whole machine. You win an election and then discover you actually don't have the power to change the things you want to change. Or you're part of a coalition with absolute pricks whose job it is to stop you (Iike the London Assembly).

Reminds me of any politician who wins on a promise of hope and then becomes part of the same creaky old slop that permeates all government. Leads to depressing "they're all the same" conclusions by the general public (doesn't matter if they're not at first).
May 5, 2025 at 8:56 AM
Absolutely. Labour spent £500k on comms in the runup to all this. For what?! They needed to have a list of quick wins to shout about, and give people something long term positive to vote FOR. Bitterly disappointed.
