An important point and yet another indication of how incredibly uncurious the current millennial generation of political reporters is about anything that happened before them. You simply cannot be an effective political reporter if you have no interest in or knowledge of history.
Jimmy Carter pardoned his brother Billy Carter who took over $200,000 from Libya as its foreign agent.
George H.W. Bush pardoned his son Neil Bush for his role in the S&L scandals of the 1980s.
Nobody thinks those pardons defined either presidency.
Joe Biden's pardon of Hunter Biden won't either.

1/Donald Trump signed the timeline agreement for Afghanistan withdrawal. Biden carried it out. Trump's transition team, if reporting is correct, is talking about prosecuting officers for following lawful orders. Hard to see that surviving a Rule 32 hearing (sort of like a criminal grand jury)...
