NEW VIDEO - I Tried Samsung's Secret Android XR Headset, and it was awesome. Think of it as the Nexus/Pixel of headsets. Coming later this year.

Is there a Rust community here yet? I’m looking for a well-maintained ECS library that can work with no_std (alloc ok) and would appreciate recommendations.

Retro x86 gaming has never been better. Between emulation (DOSBox, PCem/86Box), FPGA (MiSTer ao486), there are many options. But running real DOS wasn't possible with sound. SBEMU (https://github.com/crazii/SBEMU) is a new DOS Sound Blaster emulator for computers w/ AC97 and solves that problem!

Before SSDs became a thing, I always wanted to put together a maxed out desktop with 15K rpm SCSI or SAS drives. The excellent PhilsComputerLab channel has a recording of how cool Seagate Cheetahs sounded like: https://youtu.be/1QcMpPyUzlQ?t=76

Ad Astra is a better movie on the second watch. Still think it was a missed opportunity to tell a science fiction story with a great ending.

I moved away from WD (Red) and into Seagate Exos for the same reasons! Running enterprise disks on your home NAS not only gives you better performance but it’s also (currently) cheaper. https://youtu.be/UFDF39TRsl0
Exos vs IronWolf Pro - Which is the best HDD option for your NAS?
An in depth compare between the various harddisk options for your NAS, and which is best. Also a quick dive into PMR/CMR vs SMR, how this works under the hood, and why you should avoid SMR for anything other than archive. I use Synology as an example, but its just as valid for QNAP or any other NAS vendor, or even do it yourself NAS options.

I think I might love it. 😋

we worked the week between christmas and new year to get mutes and basic moderation functions in to prioritize safety before we even got to 1k users. what you’re seeing now is the effects of unexpected hype/growth overtaking us. if you cannot deal without blocks, come back later. this is a beta.

Debug much? In Chrome DevTools, we just upgraded the UX for debugging breakpoints! https://bit.ly/devtools-break

Common workflows with breakpoints should now be easier to access. Visibility of features should also be more intuitive.
