Such a viral program. Too many people forget that Black folks are farmers, black folks live in the rural south. While the program is here to stay let’s not fall asleep at the wheel.

Look, from the beginning I’ve always said this plaza was performative. Did I enjoy it being here while it lasted…yes. Am I mad it’s going away…no. Because regardless if 16 St. says BLM or not, our city has done virtually little to keep Black Residents Safe.
BREAKING: DC Mayor Muriel Bowser says Black Lives Matter Plaza will be changed, becoming part of a mural marking America's 250th birthday. This comes as Rep. Andrew Clyde (R-GA) pushes a bill to strip DC of funds unless the name & mural are removed.

I’m so excited to see what Pres. Edington brings to UDC. For too long it’s has been dubbed the “13th grade” and UDC is so much more than what you hear. This is our flagship university and we should be proud of it!
For decades, UDC struggled with declining enrollment and a weak reputation—but Maurice Edington, president of the university, envisions the HBCU becoming a jewel of the city, a prestigious destination for students and researchers nationwide.
