With Pipewire and a small budget audio DAC it is possible to pump reasonably high quality music in #Linux (I've attempted 24bit, 96KHz ) without problems, with a bit of sweating around the config files (to tame underruns). Currently I use Tidal and Easyeffects to equalize.
