Pay or consent should be against GDPR. A lot of online news outlets, an increasing one, use it. I can accept and delete cookies, including the one recording consent, but usually I just refuse and leave.

With Pipewire and a small budget audio DAC it is possible to pump reasonably high quality music in #Linux (I've attempted 24bit, 96KHz ) without problems, with a bit of sweating around the config files (to tame underruns). Currently I use Tidal and Easyeffects to equalize.

Started a couple of months trial of Tidal. Probably my setup is suboptimal to use it at its best. We'll see.
