(2/3) Those Guitar Hero guitars could also be used with a community made adapter (by @retrocultmods.bsky.social ) and without hardware modding. The adapter would spoof a Rock Band guitar, even though you'll be using a Guitar Hero guitar. shop.retrocultmods.com/products/v3-...

(1/3) The one on the right seems to be a Rock Band 2 Stratocaster which uses one of the white guitar dongles with a black sync button. The Rock Band 1 guitar dongle has a white sync button and is not compatible. Finding that dongle might be either tricky or expensive but they're great guitars.

Yep! Right now, Overcompensate and Backslide are outdated versions without stems+crowd but they will get updated when the whole album is finished. Only Snap Back won't have crowd audio since it was never played live. I usually get 5 to 8 crowd videos, clean them up, then (tediously) sync them up.

Damon Albarn! Release a Plastic Beach Atmos mix so I can get stems out of it to chart the entire album for Rock Band 3 with Pro instruments and my life is yours!

There's a choir of E-Bow guitars, which were running through an H9 pedal thingy. The Omnichord (I MISSED HAVING ONE SO MUCH) is also running through it. Here's that stuff isolated.

Can a 2014 MacBook Pro still do cool stuff? Apparently yes, if you can put up with the wind turbine.
I wanted to see how REAPER runs on this, and I'm honestly impressed. This is mostly using Tukan JSFX plugins since I don't really wanna install a lot of plugins on this.

Baby Audio plugins are among the most inspiring but they really should get an account system or something to put their licenses in one place (along with active computers). I've bought their plugins across different sites and having to figure out which one has the serial kinda sucks.

Ableton doesn't have anything native like this built in but you can jury-rig it by creating multiple chains then adding a filter for the band you want to affect in each. Honestly surprising they haven't added this yet.

Here's the ReaScript. Just like in Studio One, I bound it to ⌘+M (I use ⌘+= for the mixer due to Pro Tools brainrot.) I duplicated this script and edited it to use with VocAlign too.

I used to use Studio One a ton and one of the features I've missed a lot in REAPER is the "Edit in Melodyne" shortcut. Turns out you can recreate it! Just gotta type up a janky LUA script but it works well.

Today I learned about the Tukan JSFX stuff. Even though I have plenty of plugins that I picked up over the years, the fact that this stuff is FOSS is just amazing. We got to record a real Juno 106 so I used a Rock Band 3 keytar to control it for this WIP. This Imperial theme fucks.

While I'm here, anybody know any good #REAPER themes? I specifically want as many things in dark mode as possible, especially all the popup windows for Track FX. This bright grey won't do.

Tried Varispeed recording with the same workflow I mentioned yesterday. I guess that's the Vaporwave generator knob?

2/2 To make it harder on myself, I also set all of those synths and amp sims to record mono so I couldn't hide behind reverb like I usually do on my own productions. I used S&M's Track Notes feature in case to redo something later down the line. I sent some tracks to an older console too, for mojo.
