I honestly think that you are overestimating the Russian power. They will not be a fourth pole in a multipolar world. At best, for them, they will be a regional power. At worst, they will be split between Europe and China with east stretches of more or less inhabited land in between.

It makes me so angry because these are not serious people and we are forced to pretend they are or get scolded for being elitists insufficiently open to new stalls in the marketplace of ideas when we point out a prerequisite for the debate stage should be understanding how literally anything works.

Min poäng är att ett socialdemokratiskt parti med ideologiskt mod, och fokus på trygghet och materiella frågor, hade sopat banan med konkurrensen i detta valet. Man hade fått göra upp med en del gamla sanningar, men det hade behövts.

Hur hårt det partiet försöker sälja personen ”Magda”, en politiker med lika mycket karisma som en påse mjöl, är ju ett tecken på att de vet att deras politik har slutat locka väljare. I sin desperation försöker de få väljarna att ge en check in blanco till S genom att visa att Magda kan man lita på.

SD:s framgångar beror minst lika mycket på de andra partiernas misslyckanden; om SD är det minst dåliga valet, hur hård kommer då inte historiens dom vara mot de övriga partierna? Ex. S har så lite ideologisk substans i sin politik, att man skulle obemärkt kunnat byta ut dem mot tjänstemän.

Vi har prövat det tidigare. Det kallades för Decemberöverenskommelsen, och gjorde V och SD till de enda kvarvarande oppositionspartierna. Det förstärkte också bilden av SD som anti-etablissemanget, vilket gynnat dem. Det vi inte har provat är ett minoritetsstyre som inte låtsas att det inte är det.

Ok, I understood it that they covered their initial demand for refinancing their debt and covering their expected budget deficit, and added additional reserves, which was suprising. Then I assume I understood it wrong.

Why would Russia need such a big buffer? Well, to handle immediate big, but not expected long turn expenses. Like, for example, invade Estonia and get hit by sanctions until other countries have to accept fait accompli of an occupied Estonia. Call me paranoid, but this isn’t good at all.
