I agree. The mission to mars at this stage when we dont have a clean energy source nor technology to bring them back safely with high probability, makes it an extremely costly suicide mission just for a publicity stunt.
Mars is an interesting idea, but unnecessary & incredibly costly to both environment & humans.
Thirty trillion dollars (estimated cost of Mars mission) could house, feed & educate currently suffering, starving humans on Earth for years to come!
I believe it wholly IMMORAL to ignore the human cost!
