It turns out this has come up in recent planning discussions. But, officials say it's just an idea and no concrete proposals have been brought forward. (1/4)

It's beginning to look like less of a question of whether Warren Township will move its fifth graders back to elementary school and more of a question of how they do it.

I talked to an elementary parent this week who said she's been asking for the change for a long time. (1/2)

Administrators are creating a new plan to balance enrollment & compete w/other nearby school options. And, they're seeking feedback on the plan. (1/2)

In a statement, The Mind Trust leadership says it’s thrilled with the ILEA appointments, particularly Bart Peterson & Maggie Lewis.

The Mind Trust was a big advocate of this year’s debated bill requiring districts like IPS to share more property tax funding with charter schools.

And, more to add: IPS is announcing four community meetings in June. Here’s their tweet this evening 👇

Language for the proposed alliance moved several times. It came out of SB 373 this week & found a new home yesterday in HB 1515.

Interestingly enough, 1515 includes new language that exempts the alliance from meeting in the public until a final vote is taken.

This probably means a lot of belt tightening for school districts in our area as well as some major changes for IPS.

Here's his tweet from the bill signing earlier this afternoon.

Some high profile visitors are joining Gov. Mike Braun today (RFK Jr. & Dr. Oz) for a big health announcement.

Among 9 new executive orders is this 1 affecting schools. It's giving me call backs of doing the Presidential Fitness Test in school.

(Does that age me? How long ago did the PFT go away?)
