I had discovered the magic of dialing "atdt *67," before my local BBS, which disabled Call Waiting, allowing me to send all my mother's random junk callers to a busy signal - much to her dismay. That was incentive enough for her to finally get me a "teen line" of my own and then I was UNSTOPPABLE!

I started at 2400 and I just remember how awesome it was to be on that first T1 line. Zoom!

Once in a while, my brain has a “record scratch” moment when I remember how crazy fast 1.544Mbps was… as I’m measuring my current network in literal *hundreds* of Tbps.

I then slowly reboot, with all the 5.25” drive clunking of an Apple ][

My Electronics I professor, way back in 2000, once said (after his math came out wrong by a few volts): “In science, an order of magnitude is usually good enough.”

We did a lot of labs that crossed into frequencies in the “longwave” region and I recall the lm358 because it was good for such a wide bandwidth right up to about a MHz. Been so long since I played with wibbly waves in their analog form though 😰

Gotta love the LM358 💕 I may have accidentally turned a couple of those into magic smoke in the lab back in school… 🤪

here's the schematic, it's exactly the same as the model 1's onboard design, just duplicates it for each channel instead of mixing them down to mono.

whole thing fits comfortably into a 23mm x 13mm (0.9in x 0.5in) board if you can do smt soldering.

i can't offer tech support, but have fun 💜

... you know, come to think of it, I could probably trade my still-factory-sealed Balto LD for a fursuit, to the right maker 🤔

Clearly an act of academic impropriety!

That teacher had been unfair before, and claiming I used foul language was pretty serious, so my parents demanded a private meeting with the principal…

My mother insists my father didn’t raise his voice, but suffice it to say, the school administrators were always kind to me after that incident.
