If I’m understanding correctly, this is one of the most excruciating revelations—that they were able to influence Mueller’s actions? To think back then we were naive enough to out our hopes in Mueller when this was in play? My god, so painful to think of this level of pervasive control.

Wow. Most people (myself included until reading this) think he truly was doing both. If the financial svcs thing was actually nothing more than a racket to shield his international sex trafficking /extortion business—I hope this can get really amplified really fast.

I can’t decide whether I think it’s that or something truly pathological. There’s something eerie about his super-calm and cheerful delivery of the outrageous lies that reads “break from reality.”

That was meaningless because he organized what his whole caucus did, stupidly thinking the 8 Dems who voted yes—who, gee what do ya know? Aren’t up for reelection in 2026, how convenient!—would give him cover. Which it did not. In other words, his no vote was totally performative, ie bullshit.
