I don't know what Schier was like in the 70s, but I certainly find it beautiful and peaceful here in 2020s!

A great concern at the moment, though, is the plan to dig a route for a power cable (for an offshore wind farm) through the wild east end of the island 😡

The Maldives has a unique Grey Heron population, far out in the ocean. They enjoy the resort facilities, including resting on the loungers after a beer.

In Dutch their common name is Roerdomp, and I just learnt a few minutes ago that there is a popular children's book series "Ronnie de Roerdomp" - have you seen this?

N.B. The fact is that all single rooms were sold out by the time I booked, but don’t tell Traveller Heron 🤫

I walked to my polling location this morning. It was much easier than that time I forgot to update my address with the BOE and had to bike 20+ miles.

Ah, yes, it's a famous miracle recounted in the gospels: the teaching of the 5000 how to fish.

Meanwhile Traveller Heron seems to be experiencing some migratory restlessness this World Migratory Bird Day (new passport just arrived despite the shutdown, so here comes a new decade of heronventures...).
