Isn't the issue here that there might be increasingly few moderate candidates to donate to? No doubt there is some polarisation among execs, but couldn't this graph be measuring a symptom of political polarisation rather than a cause?

We had a go at a version of this in one of our own reports, framed loosely around the Labour Party’s five missions.
