What did you make?

When I was a newer attorney, I sat in on some client meetings with more senior attorneys and was surprised at how many questions they asked. But I quickly realized that’s why they were good attorneys. They were naturally curious, and not afraid to ask basic questions so they understood all the facts

I’m not a criminal lawyer, but it seems odd to rely only on the foreperson to conclude the first indictment means the exact opposite of what it says. Given the circumstances it seems like you need testimony from the other GJ members.

Isn’t the issue that the GJ completed the “first” indictment in a way that makes it appear they rejected all three counts? So the options are one “indictment” that doesn’t actually charge anything, and a second indictment that was never voted on.

Can you let me know who this is? I occasionally help people find immigration attorneys and I want to avoid inadvertently sending people to this one.

Completely agree. The CA bar is hard, and she’s actually putting in the work. So many very rich people are pursuing weird, destructive hobbies that are untethered from the common good and from reality. Becoming a lawyer is a normal dream! And she seems to want to do it for the right reasons too.

Like I assumed with Benedict that their control over the church was complete and unshakable and yet after Francis and Leo it’s in many ways the Catholic Church itself that is criticizing - if not the rise of illiberalism itself - at least its fruits.

Like you, I’ve followed tradcaths for a very long time. On some level I’m not surprised they’ve amassed power bc they usually have elite pedigrees. But what genuinely would have shocked me back in ‘09 is that they’ve effectively lost control of the church, and their main source of power is the state

Im old enough to remember Tom Friedman’s “suck on this” rant.

It should -in theory - make asylum cases easier. If the state control drug cartels, anyone persecuted by the cartels should have a viable asylum case.
