Boreal sunrise or Boreal wildfire?
Nowadays, it seems hard to distinguish beauty from chaos. It gets easier to be confused when so much is at stake and so many wrong decisions are being made.
It would be too easy to despair... I choose beauty over chaos. Do you?

Crossed path with 5 coyotes deep in Cree Nation lands 2 weeks ago. Cree elders explained that they see more and more coyotes and less wolves due to widespread logging and #forest fragmentation. Changes in wildlife also include disappearing woodland #caribou, increase in deer and vulture populations🌎

Great to be sharing this space with other scientists and people concerned/active about the biodiversity and climate emergencies. My main focus is on forest carbon, conservation and Indigenous leadership, and I will be looking for new research on Nature-based climate solutions and forestry.
