New post:

"The Radicalisation Spiral"

Why are so many people becoming radicalised? Is there any way to stop it?

With an antivaxxer running the US health dept + extreme discourse dominating politics it's an increasingly pressing question.

I think I might have been the only non-MAGA person to enjoy the parade. Sure the commentary was a bit propaganda-ry but I enjoyed learning about the different units and U.S. army’s evolution. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Lebanon is such a beautiful place. FCDO travel advisory changed in April and you can now visit parts of the country :). Highly recommend it!

The polarisation of media in the US is such a big reason why it's so susceptible to what's happening. The executive can simply avoid scrutiny, and most of their half of the country don't notice.

My post this week looked at the global rise of ethno-nationalism.

It shows how ideas that emerged in France in the 1960s influenced the rise of far-right parties in Europe but also Putin + the US alt-right.

Explains a lot of what is happening now.

I’m all for the serious analysis but sometimes you have to say it how it is, and this one just resonated. Let it all out, everyone.

Security experts: publicly, America’s allies are being cautious; trying not to poke the bear more than they have to.

What’s going on behind the scenes? Is there a global non-American Western alliance forming privately? What happens if America goes too far? (Greenland, etc)
