As @jvl.bsky.social has pointed out, Vance explicitly and literally said after the Haitian cat and dog-eating lie that he would continue to lie in order to drive his political agenda. Journalists should preface everything he says with that acknowledgement.

It’s the culture of total ideological permissiveness that got us here - the idea that everyone has a completely unrestricted right to endorse ideas that are stupid beyond belief, and that if you make them feel like an idiot for acting like an idiot, you’re the problem. No. We need MORE judgement.
