But to answer your question, it varies from state to state but most states are at .08. So you all are stricter.

Are you sure you don’t mean 0.05? I think 0.5 is dead.

Every day an addict is sober is a blessing to those around them.

After working in publicly funded addictions programs for 40 years I can tell you that the Golden Rule never changes: “He who has the gold makes the rules”. If you can’t live with the rules you have to find another fund source. Good luck. Sincerely.

Writing about this can help you and it can help others. Even if it bugs me it can help me, because I’ll know I’ve got something I need to work on.

Here’s the big thing for me: addiction crept up on me; grew up around me without me knowing it. I became hopelessly lost in a jungle of delusion and I didn’t even know it had happened. If it happened once, it can happen again. Everyone who ever relapsed had time in but time didn’t save them.

That’s the way to do it! Politics is all about the material world, striving for who gets what. Sobriety- done right - places us on a spiritual path which leads us to peace of mind in spite of the “slings and arrows of outrageous fortune”. #RecoveryPosse

Sobriety is about spiritual development. Spiritual development is about becoming less materialistic. Politics is materialistic. Don’t let it divert your focus on spiritual growth.

You just summed up the basic dilemma of alcoholism: I can’t but I have to. Also vice versa.

A few weeks after we opened a delegation came from the Sheriff’s Dept. “You haven’t had any violence or people acting out. Our security people don’t have anything to do. How did you do it?” The answer was simple: “We treat them with respect.”

Years ago we opened a detox as an alternative to arrest for public inebriates. Funded by the Sheriff’s Dept., they insisted we would need security. “We know these people - they are trouble; violent, resistant and unpredictable. They will act out and must be subdued.” We didn’t think so.

Except the fact is people are contracting chronic diseases at much younger ages than in the past.

After you’ve been around for a while, you’ll learn that public funding for addiction services swings like a pendulum.
