I’m simmering some green tomato sauce, and I like the flavor profile. I added garlic and chives that I’d frozen from the garden, plus the bell peppers and jalapeños I picked yesterday. Thanks @luvrunr.bsky.social for the tip. I’ll cook this down for a few hours and then freeze it for future use

Garden beds have been readied for winter! I cut back the annuals, pulled weeds/grass, sprinkled the kitchen compost, then topped off with the raked leaves. I prefer the leaf pile over mulch because it’ll give butterflies a nesting ground (and it’s free)

Candles are lit and the space heater is on, time to get spooky. We hang out on the front porch for Halloween. I like to set myself a little mood. Also, didn’t think about how my doggo outgrew her costume, so she’s not as festive as usual (burning incense not pictured)
