I work on the gulf as a captain and refuse to call it anything otherwise than the Gulf of Mexico. I can tell the Trumpers on my tours now, it’s the ones who have corrected me to say Gulf of America. I explain that until it’s changed by the IHO and my charts/GPS reflect it, it’s the Gulf of Mexico.
