USCG Master Captain, Ecologist and Naturalist located in SWFL fighting daily to save wild Florida and clean water.
Unlike our pathetic governor here in FL, I refuse to call the Gulf of Mexico the Gulf of America. Only until the IHO changes charts will I then consider it. But even then I’ll just say “the Gulf” to my tour guests.

The Lettered Olive is a favorite shell for collectors to pick up because of its shiny, polished exterior. These carnivorous gastropods burrow under the sand hunting prey, like Coquina clams. The sand exfoliates their shells giving them that polished look.
**Never collect live shells.**

Hey y’all! I’ve finally decided to come join the new world of Bluesky. If you don’t know me, I’m Colleen, charter captain and environmentalist in SWFL who has been heavily involved in the fight to conserve wild Florida and Florida’s clean water movement. Say hi to my wild dolphin bestie, Quarter!
