Hold up, she’s dramatically quoting “JonBenét Ramsey” who was …

a 6 year old at the time of her murder. I thought I had a grasp on just how bad her decision making process was. Clearly I had underestimated her.

People have mentioned the lull after the conflict with the Cardassians, but the Ambassador Class shows StarFleet was headed in that direction even earlier

I’d chalk it up to to arrogance, the natural tendency for navies to gold plate everything, and comfort considerations

Well intentioned bad idea

Lieberman was also a g/d traitor and came by that all on his own.

That is to say, I am not going to try to assume I have a messaging strategy that will win the day, or have any interest in trying.
December 10, 2025 at 1:12 AM
I am of the opinion that the most productive discussion is of the exploitation of economic class, but that the very significant aspect of race in America cannot be sidelined.

I think we might be down to a disagreement on messaging and I am not of the Consulting Class. It’s been real. Take care

I’m of the opinion the Civil Rights Movement really exposed that rot. For too long the halls of power were filled with rich White men who could always somehow find a way to reach common ground. Until then. Once they were no longer the sole keepers of power things got tense. But that’s another thread

I do see Hope in people like Crockett, and Ocasio-Cortez as future leaders of the party. I do worry that this country just will not accept a woman in charge. But then, I had a similar worry about a Black man. So we can hope

I think a little fire is what Progressives need. But it appears to be a fine line. We’ve been burned pretty hard by media proclaimed “Joes’ Rogans of the Left” and also by those Centrist assholes. Lieberman in particular sticks in my craw as the asshole who torpedoed universal healthcare
December 10, 2025 at 12:34 AM
Besides, running running people with a strong ideological stance seems to have gotten R’s to the cusp of enacting real American Fascism. Maybe we could try and get universal healthcare.
December 10, 2025 at 12:06 AM
And centrists have proven not only will they not pursue justice, they can’t even reliably win. A lite beer republican pisses off the D base, and why would R’s settle for less when they can get pure uncut Marge Green, or Trump?
December 10, 2025 at 12:06 AM
So breaking things down by race as a PR strategy is counterproductive. But I do see his frustration in that for a very long time the ‘good ‘ol boys’ club has protected its own. Feterman, Sinema, Lieberman, how many traitors before you don’t trust any of them?
December 10, 2025 at 12:06 AM
Like the man says, it’s about justice. Every criminal Republican President who has gotten away with it has lead inexorably to the next, even worse one.

The more “let bygones be bygones” we allow the more we normalize

I think President Harris would have, if not as fully as many would like, certainly given waaaaaaay more support to Ukraine. The Ukrainians might not have completely beat the Russians by now, but Putin would very obviously be losing the war. NATO would be more locked in, and Europe would be stronger

Hard to be the “gritty war correspondent” if there’s no war I guess.

He could also drop dead unexpectedly. He doesn’t look super healthy right now. Might be a made scramble for the autopen before the news leaks though …
