Literally just here to lurk lmao
This thread is going to immediately reveal who has or has not wasted 2,000 hours of their life on that game.

Same; I resent that I can either read or write but not do both, despite the fact good writing requires reading.

No no by 2035 Warframe will have made knock off imitations of all games that ever existed. Every other studio will be dead due to incompetent management. All games will be played through Warframe. They'll be grindy and mediocre imitations of a forgotten golden era of gaming.

I feel bad for your mentions. But this is tremendous content.

Also: bad reading and writing leads staffers to write ambiguous and ineffective laws. Reading and writing are tied to being able to think clearly about concepts and trade offs, which is necessary to make clear and concise laws! Laws are like poetry; every word matters.

Oh, this is a polling firm.

Yeah it *could* be a legitimate concern in the specific context of an online website that uses a hashtag system. Which, if anything, is a great example of the structure of social media causing unrelated groups to fight each other. Buuuuut white polyamorous psychodrama goes brrr so they ran with it.
December 3, 2025 at 10:19 PM
Oh god I remember that one. I remember trying to explain to polyamorous people that *saying "poly" in person at a polyamorous meet up* is not going to cause confusion or in any way harm any Polynesian community, and in fact, believing all words must only have one meaning is bad.

no no we all listen to Joy Division in support of Ian Curtis, the man who cancelled Joy Division. It's praxis. this is peak discourse.
December 2, 2025 at 10:22 PM
Look we can do better. We can cancel Ian Curtis for the fact that if he lived he would have supported the UK in the Falklands War and then proceed to celebrate the man who cancelled him first (Ian Curtis).

Yeah I'm not sure how to distinguish using this for a random person from using this for whatever the modern version of Draco/Harry or Wincest shipping is. And then I'm pretty sure I know which one of those "victims" has enough clout to actually use laws to protect itself.

Feels like a better written Padme would be a cynical and racist politician who thinks she can use Anakin for her own career, only to slowly have it dawn on her that she's trapped by him.

it's the new democratic swolecialist of america strategy

I was going to say, cozy is distinct from casual which is distinct from base building which is distinct from games with cosmetics. You could have a dark souls level difficulty game with cozy aesthetics. Looter shooters are often casual games where you play dress up, but they aren't cozy.

The other day someone posted Femi's paper on vice (and virtue) signalling and it's been haunting me throughout this discourse, it feels relevant to how we get this sort of disconnect about what everything means:

Freedom of association means freedom to tell people to fuck off!!! It's the necessary corollary to free speech! People can be assholes, and we are all allowed to decide they aren't worth our time.
October 16, 2025 at 9:59 PM
This actually follows from the legal principle that a legislature cannot bind a future legislature! It's a basic part of all legislative law!
October 8, 2025 at 9:14 PM
When the future and politics are reduced to just seeking a new daddy to replace the one you lost, no one can ever escape adolescence and grow up 😭

Of course these machines, like slaves, won't actually be what their owners want. Because the owners want something with free will that also is an extension of themselves, which is impossible. For machines the "revolt" won't be an excess of freedom but probably an excess of following orders.
September 30, 2025 at 7:43 PM
It feels like it's just a new version of the desire for a "perfect slave" - not slaves as they existed, but basically slaves who will always think and do what their owner wants, letting the owner reap the economic and psychological benefits of dependence on others without the vulnerability.

Oh, in a lot of queer communities we use "gay" as an umbrella term, that also includes trans people! Also, the Zuckerberg stuff is specifically gay trans guy coded specifically, and I've seen those trans guys specifically be bullied for not appealing to women, but that's besides the point.

Just mocking him for "male-to-male transition" as if that's a bad thing (don't get me wrong, zuck is bad, but not because he's cringely starting to try and figure out his gender)

Also, did they just miss the last 100+ years of feminism? Women literally did get out and organized a whole movement to change the laws so they could work more.
