Someday people will appreciate how Joe Biden avoided so much corruption by being Not Part of the Cool Kids Club and could just focus on trying to govern well.

It's very odd to see a presidential signature - if that is one - on something other than letterhead. This looks extremely unofficial. Of course a president can write a pardon in whatever way he wants, but this is not normal.

This is their source: "according to two people granted anonymity to disclose the terms."
November 10, 2025 at 12:42 AM
What is different about this case?
November 10, 2025 at 12:14 AM
Can we please stop all falling for journalism that tells us rumor without a single named source on the record. We need to boycott this kind of reporting so as to not encourage it. The more people fall for it, the more likely the tactic is to be used the next time.
November 10, 2025 at 12:08 AM
If the votes are so solid, how come none of you can come up with a named source?
November 10, 2025 at 12:06 AM
so far not a single reporter has a Dem Senator who will be quoted by name.
November 10, 2025 at 12:05 AM
I don't know what Karl would consider senior. He could solve this problem by not reporting stories from people who don't give their names.
November 9, 2025 at 10:01 PM
We have no idea what is going on and who is spreading these rumors. The only reporter so far who claims to have talked to ANY Dem Senator is Karl, who talked to ONE person (if we believe him), and that person says D leadership is still resisting.

This just stinks of a campaign to encourage caving.
November 9, 2025 at 9:58 PM
Right, but even Karl says "leadership" would vote against it.

This is just reinforcing the doom-loop biases people have. It's emotional manipulation rather than well-sourced news.
November 9, 2025 at 9:53 PM
Or no one is caving yet the there is a media campaign to discourage people by making it look like Senators are caving.

We can't tell, right? So reporters should not print stuff like that. No names, no story.
November 9, 2025 at 9:52 PM
One year takes you through the midterm elections and cancels the ACA credits immediately afterwards. How is that a good solution, to hand over all that leverage?
November 9, 2025 at 9:50 PM
The Hill is just speculating - no quotes. They don't even say someone told them these D Senators are caving. All they can say is that these names "are considered" (by who?) possible yes votes.
November 9, 2025 at 9:48 PM
Jonathan Karl of ABC claims that he's talked to one Dem Senator who says caving is near but that person won't give their name (Fetterman?) AND says D leadership (Schumer etc.) will vote against it. So who is caving, and leaking?

Motivated rumor is not news - it's using reporters for propaganda. 4/
November 9, 2025 at 9:46 PM
That's at least a claim of one Dem Senator, but no name. Someone is planting a story but wants to hide their name. You have to ask why.
November 9, 2025 at 9:40 PM
It is always good to call and let them know what you think!
November 9, 2025 at 9:36 PM
Semafor reports the same story - "Deal to reopen government starts to come together" - but while they quote 3 GOP Senators, they have no Dems on the record. Mullin and Rounds say things like "It’s just a matter of one or two things to be worked out". No specifics. 3/

Deal to reopen government starts to come together in Senate
It’s still unclear what promises Republicans will make Democrats on health care or how fast Congress can pass the agreement.

Here's the Axios article. They claim to have sources in "both parties" but they have zero people on the record, nor do they provide any explanation for why their sources were granted anonymity. Anonymous, possibly motivated rumor didn't used to be considered journalism. 2/
Deal to end government shutdown in reach
At least 10 Senate Democrats are expected to support a key procedural motion.

It's why certain elite Dems love Graham Platner so much, a faux-working-class man from an elite background. He speaks their language, shares their mannerisms and assumptions. Biden didn't. 2/
November 9, 2025 at 5:51 PM
That Biden was considered an outsider is true and woefully under-emphasized. His father had recurring business failures, at one point was cleaning boilers. Biden was born in Scranton, went to the University of Delaware. Class solidarity is a real thing. 1/

More like a Fiat 3000 from Italy, though the rivets don't match this image. Not a Soviet T-18 or T-24, thankfully.

@cherijacobus.bsky.social this is a bs conspiracy theory, please don't amplify it.

A Sierra Club staffer has posted a long thread on this article, pointing out many specific factual errors, so recommend finding that before taking this story at face value.
