FAA confirmed that ATC was short staffed at DCA. While we can't confirm that it was a direct result of the Hiring Freeze, we do know that the process for hiring ATCs is very long and drawn out and 3000+ were in the process of hiring in 2024. A large number of those probably just got cancelled.

While the George C Scott version is an excellent recreation of the original novel, I think the Muppet Christmas Carol fully embodies the modern connection with the story providing a stellar performance by Michael Caine attached to an excellent score.

South Korea is such an interesting case. The U-shaped democracy seems to continue diving off a cliff. I haven't done enough research on why Korea continues to struggle at the Presidential level, but this decision was beyond stupid, as it's very clear there was no conversation with party leadership.

I understand the criticism, but the lawlessness Ive seen from the right—including from the window of my old office in Longworth—has me thinking if they wanted to support the law and democracy, they should have done that instead of hiding behind Garland. This is an excuse for not doing their jobs.

Honestly, I'm tired of hearing about it. Let's keep using BlueSky since it's clearly better, and forget that the other exists. By continuing to mention that site, we continue to give it power.

It'll probably get leaked or otherwise. But he's got to run again for his seat, and while he'll probably win it regardless, it was only not released because he resigned. House has a duty to do so in that case.

I think you'll find in a lot of young people, myself included, that need to fill any quiet time with noise. For me it's watching or listening to YouTube as I go to sleep. I know it's not right and it definitely hurts my mental state, but I don't want to go deeper in thought

I've heard this argument for linear tv, or, at the very least, unbiased media before. Is this something that is actually feasible in the modern era? While I understand the US government and its reach, TV law is something I have no visibility into.
