Goddammit someone like my hummingbird video lol. I’ve been trying to get a hummingbirds to visit my backyard for years and it just happened!

Me over excited about finally getting a hummingbird to appear in my new bed of bee and hummingbird favoring flowers. To be clear it’s not like hummingbirds are rare here but I live in a “suburb” that’s hemmed in on all sides by city and highway and haven’t seen them here before.

And here’s a good size pest controller right in the same space but they are a bit too big for this amazing jumping spider.

They stay in shade during the day.

Lanternflies, ugh. Saw them last year for the first time. In RI like most places the tree of heaven thrives. Big ToH in my backyard and they’ve found it. Both are invasive species to be clear, but the lanternfly can kill indigenous trees.
