The highest level of 1-4-dioxane pollution has been found at a wastewater plant in North Carolina. This is 160 times the level of what is protective of downstream drinking water.

Our jaws were dropping! The Environmental Mgmt. Commission members repeatedly bragged that this rule was 80% written by polluting industries!! That is jaw dropping enough - but also confusing since the industry legal representation told reporters- in bold letters - that this rule was DEQs proposal!
Jaws are dropping at the Env Mgt Commission meeting b/c Commish Keene just acknowledged the Water Quality Assoc wrote 80% proposed rule for #PFAS minimization plan, DEQ just filled in the blanks. WQA has denied this. @newsongs.bsky.social
