We're working on a projectile multi-hit point setup. When using trebuchets, catapults and other siege weapons, we don't want to hit just one spot on buildings.

So far, so good! Once we add destruction particles and fire vfx it's going to be great! 💥🔥🏰

While the retro aesthetic has become part of the game’s identity, these updates hopefully can prove that the game is always evolving.⏫🖼️

Our game will be getting some major graphical overhaul in the upcoming weeks.🛠️

Up until now, we've been using modern camera system for our game, but since we're big fans of old school RTS games, we decided to try orthographic perspective and we are... kinda in love with it?

And this is after we applied "brushstrokes" feeling from tree's shader. We also reduced pastel tones and added color variations along with a bit of noise. this is the final result (so far)! What says you?

We were trying to achieve better results from the texture side first, and then we planned to do more improvements with the actual shader work.

Texturing is fun! So we decided to apply textures to buildings in our RTS. Our goal was to improve the look of them and to better match the rest of the environment (mostly the trees). This felt like a good direction. 🏘️🖼️

Buildings in our rts game can evolve through eras. Each era should show advancement as they will allow additional options. Here are some concept arts of the Archery Range building that belong to Odyssean faction

The only thing we had to do is add bit texturing to them and it looks miles better now! Don't you agree?

The idea is that it is a blockade - your units have to find different path. So our 3d artist design some sharp stones. This gave additional depth to the ground.

Our original design was functional, but not clear enough. While the color represented different land type, it was not clear if you could move your units there or even slide them on this land type.

Here is how we updated our cliff edges in our game. The terrain is big part of RTS game and we need to make it as pretty as possible while giving clarity to it
