Arguing that people who live in the South are inherently racist, violent, and dumb has long been a way to avoid examining the problems of "progressive" policing because "we aren't like that."

You say that, but again, a great majority of white Americans did not “walk and chew gum at the same time” until 2020, when massive demonstrations—most of them outside the South—finally convinced the rest of America that racism is more than thick accents and burning crosses

Racism is an everybody/everywhere problem. This should not be controversial

Efforts to localize racism to the South have hindered the campaign for equality across the nation. This also should not be controversial

Yeah, in Milwaukee (which is basically Chicago). Because that’s where all the black people live. I lived in WI for two years, split between Madison and GB, and met literally three black people the whole time I was there, two of whom were homeless

Come on. “Racism is a southern problem” is exactly why it took fifty years to get from the Civil Rights Act to the mainstream recognition of systemic racism. The main reason you hear more about racism in Georgia than Wisconsin is there are no black people in Wisconsin

A disturbingly large majority of people (surely including myself, more than I care to realize) understand themselves, especially politically, in terms of who they are not, far more than who they are

“Leftists” are 99% of the time liberals who define themselves in oppositions to the left-center

You see the same pattern play out on the right with the “RINO” accusations

The liberal media is having a field day, but a discerning eye will notice they didn’t release the hundreds of thousands of emails in which Trump said, “Thank you, Mr. Epstein, but I must respectfully decline your child prostitutes”
