My full thoughts in the alt text, but TLDR: there is a legal process to make it happen, but it could not and will not happen. If he takes a third term, he will do it illegally.
Okay I'm not even giving them the click on this because clearly they are trying to bow to the God-Emperor, but in the interest of education: yes, *technically*. In 1933, congress set the precedent of being able to repeal amendments when the 21st repealed the 18th (prohibition). IF 67% of the House and Senate passed it, and 75% of the states ratified it, the 22nd could be repealed in the same way. 50 states means 38 would need to ratify it (there are many more than 12 blue states), plus the Rs do NOT have a 2/3 majority in the House or Senate. It won't happen, but legally, it could.

Yes, yes, ACAB, you're all very clever. But realize how golden an opportunity this is. This is someone who has always been "in charge" suddenly brought low. They're probably feeling especially vulnerable right now. Imagine how much good would come of the moment a protestor stops to help them, make them feel safe. They'll remember that. They'll take that idea with them. "Maybe we can work together better than fighting. Maybe the protestors aren't the bad guys here." It could fail, but it could also do much good.

Maybe I'm wrong, maybe I'm misreading the movie, but I thought *the whole point* was that Mal *did* think "getting out the signal" was just him proving the Alliance was "evil" and that he had no further motive than being proved correct. I always saw him as an anti-hero with very selfish motives.

People talk about how "half of America supports a Nazi" or "33% of America is racist" but when it comes down to it, the vast majority of them really just... don't actually know how to get what they want. I'm not one of the "everyone would be liberal of they understood better" guys but better education would make it easier to separate the well-meaning people from the actual racists.

See, I used to have a hard time grasping what Doc meant when he talked about this sort of game, but I think this paragraph sums it up well.
