Insignia! My pfp is the nose art for the Borrowed Time, the ship from a Star Wars Edge of the Empire/Age of Rebellion game, and this is the unit patch of the Troubleshooters from a different AoR game. Art for both by @hishgraphics.bsky.social! A player gave me the patch version only yesterday !

The latest batch of books finished and now returned to Thomas Crane Library.

… I only got another four after returning these, I am a PARAGON of restraint.

Whoa! The Cog That Remains is in the top ten of Popular #Mecha #ttrpg on @itch.io right now! Can the Chief Mechanic keep things together long enough for their mecha to charge into the top five before it all comes tumbling down? Maybe being 65% off will help: itch.io/s/160017/the...

The Island of Dr. Moreau is next in the TBR pile, the third game from Ulysses Duckler on this list because Duckler's just like that I guess and keeps making cool-looking games. It's a very big pretty book, which is a change from the small pretty books that are Cuticorium and To Change.

Tangled Blessings is on the Shelf of Opportunity. I've struggled with tarot-powered games in the past, I'm hopeful that getting the TTRPG Tarot deck will help.

Going to be bouncing all over the place today: physical, digital, Shelf of Opportunity, To Be Reviewed, Self-Made.

Dead Air: Seasons is TBR, a game that is very much plugging into The Last Of Us but taking a more 'the world is fundamentally changing' path rather than 'just' shroom zombies.

Dark Heresy 2e, by comparison, went very well! Granted, this was actually the campaign that got overthrown by Masks, but it was still memorable in its own right, earned a lot of lines in the Quote Log, reached a solid conclusion, and even got revisited a few times for one-shots.

Yeah, our biggest issue was that it has so many SUB-systems, entire chapters each devoted to a single kind of character. Standard magic user (which is rabbit hole of its own), adepts, deckers, technomancers, riggers, and we had a big group so all of them were in play at once. So Much Going On.

I consider Only War one of my genuine failures as a GM. The regiment we put together did not lead to party balance/usefulness at ALL, and I mishandled its lethality in a bad way. Campaign died.

Despite that, there's a fond memory or two stashed away in there, especially related to who I ran it for.

Shadowrun! Played and possess 4e + 5e. It's a little like Exalted for me in that it was played in the same group, also with two campaigns from two different GMs, and the group will certainly never return to it. Oh, and buckets of d10s/d6s. I could see myself playing it with another group though.
August 13, 2025 at 3:27 PM
Ah, Exalted 3rd Edition (deluxe), my prettiest paperweight/improv melee weapon.

I backed this after two campaigns of Exalted 2e, which I typically describe these days as doing two tours of duty in Creation. I had fun but in retrospect I don't know why I thought 3e would be better/ever get played.

Well, had to address the dragon game eventually, right? 4e D&D remains ‘my’ edition with far and away the most playtime, with the crown jewel being an Eberron game I ran to The End after 8 years and all 30 levels.

Cyberpunk RED is what I’m currently running! 32 sessions so far, and The Alleyway Regulars are in ever-deeper trouble. Near and dear to my heart, as 2020 was my first non-D&D game and, through joining that game, a stepping stone to many many things.

That’s it for tonight, more tomorrow!

I won my copy of the Iron Kingdoms - Full Metal Fantasy RPG in a Desert Bus for Hope raffle. Even though I was playing Warmahordes at the time I never got IK to the table, but I got a lot of enjoyment out of reading it and the setting book I got in the bargain.

Ace Adventure! I playtested this waaaaay back in the day, as (one of?) the first player of Jacques du Monde, French spy, pillow talk mastermind, and jack of all trades (master of… few).
