I finished writing the story of going to Revision this year. It ended up some 17,000 words long because I wanted to cover *everything*. And... I did! Eventually!

Tonight's @field-fx.party shader jam... plus a bit of extra time. I want to play around with divergence-free 3D noise but to begin with I made a 2D effect advecting along a 2D slice! Finally starting to get somewhere resembling fluid sim ^_^

Swizzle the ferret now runs through through the world you generate in Shaderland. same pixel-precise automaton under the hood, but much cuter.

Tonight's @field-fx.party shader jam, I am casting rays out against an infinite field of the Game of Life.

Each pixel essentially owns its own game of life cell on a toroidal play area which tiles the plane. A noise texture is added based on the FFT.

(& to compare two translations into chinese, surely it should show us the chinese text, not just a 'what it would have sounded like in english' representation?)

i spent like. an hour or two trying to get the perspective lines to match up so that i could estimate the size of the rectangle and I just can't get the perspective to line up. i can only guess that some kind of shear transformation has been applied to the image or your house is on a slant

this week's 1h @field-fx.party shader jam. a rotating cube is a very stereotypical demoscene motif, but I need to practice raymarching and I think the chromatic aberration carries it haha. (aberration and rounding are tuned to different FFT bins)

fr though: i visited the czechoslovak videogame archive, all sorts of fascinating computers and lore there. it's cool seeing games magazines being preserved as historical materials! i have a couple of photos here, more tomorrow when i get them off the nice camera

just found out the crytek sponza scene was based on a real place (and also that it's called the crytek sponza scene). it would be so weird to go there. like you'd stepped through into a global illumination demo. they should hang up coloured flags there year round

after some desperate late night partycoding to finish it in time, @evoke.eu had me up to the beam team platform to demo 'Shaderland' ^_^

releasing this prototype on Itch soon as I'm home! lots of ideas how to develop it further for a Steam release later this year...

lol. if the payment processor thing wasn't bad enough, looks like Itch is just straight up blocking you from looking at certain users' pages if you're in the UK. like not just the games, the entire user page. no "age verification" either, just hard block

thankfully you can pretty easily VPN past it
