I’m reading the Joe Taylor biography and am enjoying figuring out old bird names, such as Man O’ War bird (Magnificent Frigatebird) and Darby Flycatcher (Great Kiskadee). Figuring out “New Mexican Duck” sent me to the 1946 archives of The Auk. Bird names change. People adapt. #BirdNamesForBirds
