This is evident through the Sodor Strike in the 20s. No way Thomas, Edward and Percy managed running an ENTIRE RAILWAY themselves.

Thomas and Percy are small tank engines and Edward is an older engine too. Thomas and Edward were the only ones working the mainline and Percy at Ffarquhar. (2/3)

For me, this works on occasions. I'll remember the likes of characters like Barry or Mighty-Mac will exist and I'll usually change them my way to make them recognizable to me.

Barry and Mac becoming females was a good decision on my part.

This kinda fits in with 3, except off of physical appearence.

I can't lie that some characters like Jinty or Ryan have a spark that gives more LGBTQ+ energy (Ryan is LITERALLY THE NB PRIDE FLAG ON AN ENGINE).

Like honestly, you can't tell me otherwise or change my mind.

Yes, I know this isn't a good reason, but honestly, with such a male-dominated cast of characters, what else is there to do?

There are many characters I can't see as female (Gordon, Toby, Donald, Hank, etc.), but tbh? It's one's AU and choice to do what they wish.
