WTF?!? Border Czar Tom Homan claimed that ICE and Border Patrol agents don’t need probable cause to detain people they suspect are undocumented, saying they can do so based on factors like physical appearance. This is straight-up racial profiling, not law enforcement.

Really? I currently work in a factory. And have most of my career so this is odd to me in all sorts of ways. Wish I could earn. Wage to me comfortable. At 58, most of my fellow employees live week to week. Most of us actually enjoy & taken pride in our jobs and do them with integrity and care.

The Syrian Arabic word for a hamster is أبو جراب (abu jrab), where jrab refers to a pouch/saddlebag/tote. And abu often means “father of,” but can also function as a general honorific (like “mister”). So it’s not too big a stretch to say the Syrian Arabic word for a hamster means “Mister Saddlebags”
