It looks like Camp Grizzly is going to get a second edition through @trickortreatgames.bsky.social

This is fantastic news as this is one of the most fun games I’ve ever played and it has been really hard to get ahold of (for a reasonable price, at least) for almost a decade.

It’d be a lot cooler if it was.

The second edition of this Sleepaway Camp book has a lot of great new information on 2&3, including an in-depth interview with writer Michael Hitchcock where he talks about the evolution of the stories across multiple drafts. Definitely worth the upgrade.

The Revolution begins on June 5th. This is a timeline I made of the ten most significant things that happened on that day.

Franklin tells the other campers society keeps people in line through the use of fear. When they overcome fear, they stand above society.

A variation can be seen on the back of this British VHS.

I tried to make a map of Camp High Pines based on Winston’s descriptions. Unfortunately, it looks like it was made by a 3rd grader.

This image has been on the cover of The Butterfly Revolution since sometime in the 80s. It’s the first cover I ever encountered. Despite the credits on the copyright page, this image was not designed by Bruce Pennington.

I’m on an Italian kick that I’m really enjoying. I haven’t done more than just the most popular ones in a long time.

Goodreads lists the man on the left as William Butler, author of The Butterfly Revolution. The picture and bio on the right is from the first UK hardcover edition.

Nice! My father in law has a camera set up to watch animals try to get in his garbage cans.

Most of our birds in New Brunswick have headed down your way.

While it’s not a perfect adaptation of The Butterfly Revolution, it’s a shame that this Embassy laserdisc is still the best way to see Summer Camp Nightmare.

Check out this VHS sleeve that I think is from Spain. Notice it has that weird image of Runk with the bow & arrow that was never shot for the movie.

This is not my favourite cover for The Butterfly Revolution, but this first US paperback featured the first visualization of protagonist Winston Weyn.

My friend Jeff literally wrote the book on Sleepaway Camp. It’s been one of my favourites for more than 30 years and I still learned a lot I didn’t know. The revised edition has significantly expanded sections on 2 & 3.
