Getting stuffed whenever you do a #wrestling shot in #BJJ matches? Try keeping your back at ~60-45 degrees (to avoid sprawls). Instead, only think about spinning to the back once you make contact - there you can stand up behind them or keep driving them sideways where sprawls are weaker.

My #jiujitsu students often ask me how to stop getting submitted. Upper body defence in #bjj mostly comes from protecting your torso (armpits, hips + neck) from exposure/ control.
That means using your elbows and knees to recover that space over and over!

"Just standing up" in #BJJ needs at least 3 pieces:
1) Chest and hips 90° or more facing the ground
2) Your bottom leg (the one nearest the ground) under your hips to lift them
3) Shoulders aligned over your knees or hips
+(Commonly) A post to tripod and resist pressure
