Tons of players add to their offensive game as the years wear on. Not many truly commit to getting better on defense.

He basically won us a handful of regular season games with some clutch baskets then followed it up with his clutch plays to get us the Game 2 win over NY in the playoffs.

I need to see a track record of success and health in a larger role before I would personally commit to majority of players in this league. Projecting is hard, and it’s not linear, but I’d still rather go for the on-paper safest options. We’d give up more, yes, but our ceiling would be higher.

I have more faith in those guys, because they have taken larger roles and excelled. We don’t know that with Aldama. He would be my Option C or D, a fall back option.

I would agree but again, the Magic are mortgaging the future for a player that may not make them much better than they were 2 season ago. They still don’t have good shooting on the team overall. Their stars have to stay healthy. Idk. All I know is, Detroit has to be careful and selective.

My point is, if the Pistons want a great player and have to give up a lot for it, they better go after a superstar or a tier 1A-1B type player. No third option or fourth option (like a Bane) type BS. And you’ll prob say that the Magic have their first and second option in Franz and Paolo.

The Grizzlies got the one offer they couldn’t refuse so this doesn’t necessarily have to be the norm moving forward. Bane is a good player. He is not Durant. Tbh, Durant might not even go for as much as Bane went for, I know he’s older but he’s still a top-10 player in the league when healthy.

Yeah that’s what I figured. I still think we prob have a list of guys we actually wanna draft. Idk if we’ll bring them in for a workout or not. Who knows.
June 12, 2025 at 11:52 AM
That’s kinda true but there’s still guys you expect to be drafted. Some more than others.

Yeah a NAW or a Hauser would be cool. The draft is an indication I think. I assume the Pistons think they prob can’t resign everybody. The guys they have worked out, the list is guard-heavy.
