Had a pretty amazing end to my vacation last night at the Nine Inch Nails concert in Toronto. I’ve been a fan for 30 years and last night’s show was one of the best.

Sometimes adorably quizzical things happen. This one's worth sharing.

Had a great time with friends in Port Dalhousie yesterday. Even got a chance to hit up Lakeside Park and ride on the free carousel, something I’ve probably done every summer for more than 40 years. Good memories.

Over the past year, including today, signs with my name posted near Jamesville have been popping up - a clumsy attempt to blame me for the sins of my predecessor. This rather nice example made its way back to me and now hangs in my office. Keep being you #HamOnt. 💞

Had a great time away for a few days in the Muskoka area and did something I’ve never done before - brought my cat Harper with me. As an indoor cat, it was clear she really loved the screened in porch.

Over the last couple of days I’ve heard from a number of residents that police fenced off the Escarpment Rail Trail to conduct an encampment raid. Today, the community gathered in Corktown Park to speak up about it. #HamOnt

On tough days, like today, I'm grateful to be able to see these beautiful magnolia friends on my way into work. If you're near City Hall, stop by and take in this once a year treat. It's worth it. #HamOnt

It’s still a toss up in Hamilton Centre but I’m so proud of my friend and MP Matthew Green who spoke from his heart tonight about the work we must continue to do, every day, together, starting tomorrow. I’ll be there. #HamOnt

Even if I didn’t already know who I was voting for today, my friend and MP Matthew Green is the only candidate who I received a flyer from in my apartment building. He not only cares deeply about the community he lives in, but his politics include everyone. It matters. #HamOnt

There’s only one local representative who’s going to put the interests of Hamilton Centre residents first and that’s my friend and my MP Matthew Green. Solidarity still matters in #HamOnt. Make sure you get out and vote. ✊🏻

I agree with this to the extent that I would also have liked the budget sooner, in December, but I made it work and figured it out. All of my motions were in order, on time, and I collaborated with City staff to ensure they would be. Not sure what happened to these folks. #HamOnt

Congratulations to Gore Park Outreach on 4 years supporting those in need. I was out this morning to help setup and caught up with my MPP Sarah Jama as she was suiting up to help package and serve some hot food to the many folks waiting in line. #HamOnt

This little angel joined my household over the Family Day weekend. Her name is Harper, she's just shy of a year old, and I found her at the Burlington Humane Society. She's a perfect fit - sassy, sweet, and full of curiosity.

Dropped by my place on the way to a meeting and found this in my mailbox. It’s the first piece of literature I’ve received from a Provincial candidate during this election. I appreciate Sarah Jama continuing to prioritize communication with renters. It matters. #HamOnt

Today's 7 hour budget meeting was confusing, silly, and disappointing. While I'm grateful that 4 of the 5 motions I brought forward were supported by the majority on Council, I think there are some serious takeaways we need to be mindful of for next year's budget. #HamOnt

I’m returning to Hamilton today after some time away with my family. As usual, apart from getting to spend time with my loved ones, the highlight of my trip was birds. This was my favourite shot - cormorants on the supports of a former pier (enjoy the bonus photos).

Spending some time at Allen Gardens in Toronto today. It’s my first time and, even though the main atrium is under renovation, there are still lots of beautiful plants to see. 🌿

To clarify, that means local organizations like LiUNA, St. Joseph's Healthcare, the YMCA, and Carmens Group, among others, wrote in before seeing the budget to say they supported it. I don't understand that.

This Tuesday the police board will review its 2025 budget. To date, the board has published letters of support for the budget submitted by some local organizations. The weird part? These letters were submitted before the budget was made public. Not sure how that works. 🧵 #HamOnt

Over the weekend, we hit the 2 year mark since this term of Council's inauguration. I've spent some time reflecting on what's it's been like so far, the progress I've made, and what's next. When I ran in 2022, I developed a list of campaign priorities. Let's start there. #HamOnt

Hundreds of Hamiltonians gathered tonight to honour Erixon Kabera and to support his grieving family. The message was clear as we marched from City Hall to the central police station - we want answers and we want justice. Support if you can - gofund.me/94a0cfb5. ✊🏻 #HamOnt

A year ago today, Election Day, I posted a photo of the sun coming up over City Hall. Today, I'm sharing one from its 8th floor. A lot has happened, and celebrating feels bittersweet at the moment with all that's going on, but here's to sunrises and happy moments. #HamOnt
