If they encounter something that creeps them out or they're uncertain about, and they know asking you about it mean they'll lose access to the only third space they have remaining to them, they will not ask you for help or to contextualize it or "is this person a creep?"

There's a lot of panic about social media and the Bad Things it exposes kids to and a lot of laws proposing to let parents control when (or if) their kids can use social media. Friends, your kids are going to use social media no matter what. All you can control is whether they ask you for help.
