I'd given up on seeing anything more than lip service in support of trans people in cycling until this tbh. I'm still far from hopeful for cycling as in this country as a whole reaching any semblance of sanity, but... it's something

All my sympathy to that kid, Pike is a pseudo-scientist contrarian of the highest order.
*I* have more relevant academic expertise on the science behind trans people in sport than he does. Guess who gets regularly published though, of course.

Bets on this being how we find out that none of the documentation for the trial even exists because it was simply kicked into the long grass when Streeting was told there was no way to get ethical approval?

Tbf I highly doubt this comes from any genuine values. She's backtracking because the message that it would tank her entire career finally got through her thick skull (likely along with a healthy dose of spite for Falkner trying to strong-arm her)

Fr, even the outright maliciousness of a few years ago was better - at least it was easy to de-bunk.
Now everyone in any tiny position of power is so deep in the doublespeak that you need a published academic review just to break down what they *actually* mean to a level that normal ppl understand
