Not gonna lie, having kickass student feedback a month after not even being interviewed for the new tenure-track position in my department feels like very slight vengeance. I should phone it in, but I refuse.

When David Ferry learned of my interest in translation, he sent me to a library in Boston with a name. I chased that name across the Iberian peninsula, and a decade later won a book prize for poetry in translation.

Amazing poet, amazing translator, amazing man. Rest in Peace.

Saddened to hear we lost Louise Glück. Her guidance helped me land my first publication as a fledgling poet, and she gave me both the most amazing backhanded compliment and amazing piece of writing advice I ever received. May she rest in peace.
